When was the track built?

MPH grew from a 2004 local vision into a real project in 2006 when designer Alan Wilson was commissioned. Asphalt went down through that summer and fall, and the SCCA-approved circuit opened the following year. In October 2021 the entire driving surface and pit complex were repaved, refreshing grip and ride quality across the lap.

When was its first race?

The circuit’s first race season ran in 2007. From the outset it hosted SCCA and NASA regional racing, Porsche Club of America, Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing, karting and motorcycle schools. MPH even earned a Forbes nod in 2009 as one of the best places to go fast legally in the US.

What's the circuit like?

  • Three-straight rhythm: Draft down the front straight into a heavy brake, build speed again mid-lap, then launch onto the final run - good passing chances each stint.
  • Technical linkers: Wilson’s signature medium-speed sequences reward platform control and precise rotation without abusing kerbs.
  • Forgiving but fast: 40 ft width and ample run-off make it ideal for coaching and track days while still challenging experienced racers.
  • Fresh tarmac feel: The 2021 resurface improved consistency and reduced bumps, helping lap times fall across categories.
  • Benchmark pace: Overall event best 1:26.6 during Viper Rendezvous - typical club racing and time-attack machinery sit 1:28-1:35 depending on class and conditions.

Lap records and benchmarks (by series)

  • Overall event best: 1:26.6 at Viper Rendezvous, 2021.
  • SCCA/NASA regional references: Class records vary by region and year on the 2.15 mile course - the SCCA Midiv lists MPH at 2.15 miles for official timing.
  • Motorcycle schools and trackdays: Ducati/TrackAddix operate regular events - bike references vary with configuration and coaching format.

Why go?

Approachable, friendly and quick. You get proper overtaking zones, modern amenities and great spectator access, all on a smooth surface that flatters learning and rewards pace. It’s a perfect Midwestern road-trip ticket with busy calendars for cars, bikes and karts.

Where's the best place to watch?

  • Front straight braking zone: Starts, restarts and classic out-braking moves into Turn 1.
  • Mid-lap complex: See who keeps momentum through the linked medium-speed turns to set up the back straight.
  • Final corner and pit straight: Traction to the stripe, with garages and pits in view for strategy and traffic.

Not just one series - headline events at MPH

SCCA & NASA regionals: Dense multi-class weekends with plenty of green-flag laps.

Viper Rendezvous & marque meets: Annual big-power gathering that produced the 1:26.6 event best.

TrackAddix/Ducati schools & clubs: Regular two-wheel programs using the full 2.15 mile course.

Karting and Ignite specials: On-site kart activity and visiting series add to a full calendar.
