When was the track built?
Members of Automobilklub Wielkopolski proposed turning old Ławica airport runways into a racing circuit in 1974. Construction began in 1975, with club members and local volunteers helping complete the facility.
Tor Poznań officially opened in December 1977. A separate 1.509 km karting circuit was added in 1980, allowing the complex to support drivers from their earliest races through to national-level competition.
What's the circuit like?
- Fast but technical: Long acceleration zones are followed by corners that require firm braking and accurate positioning.
- Mostly flat: The total elevation change is only 6.7 m, so the challenge comes mainly from corner combinations and maintaining speed.
- Flowing middle section: Several bends connect closely together. A poor exit from one corner can affect the next two or three.
- Important final corner: Drivers need a clean exit because it controls their speed along the main straight.

Getting to Tor Poznań (Poland)
Tor Poznań is in Przeźmierowo on the western edge of Poznań, directly beside Poznań-Ławica Airport. Driving is the easiest way to visit, but buses from central Poznań reach Przeźmierowo and special event services sometimes continue directly to the circuit.
Driving to the circuit
Driving is the simplest option because Tor Poznań is close to major roads on the western side of the city.
- From central Poznań: head west towards Ławica and Przeźmierowo.
- From the airport: the circuit is very close, so a taxi or rideshare provides an easy transfer.
- From outside Poznań: approach the western side of the city and follow signs towards Przeźmierowo.
- Navigation: search for “Tor Poznań” or use the official Wyścigowa Street address.
The circuit is beside an active airport, so do not accidentally follow navigation towards the airport terminal instead of the raceway entrance.
Bus & train
Visitors without a car should use Poznań Główny as their main transport hub and continue towards Przeźmierowo by bus.
- Poznań Główny: the main railway station for visitors arriving from Warsaw, Berlin, Wrocław and other cities.
- Bus 159: connects the station and airport area with Przeźmierowo.
- Final journey: continue on foot, by taxi or rideshare depending on the stop and your event entrance.

A direct circuit shuttle is not a permanent service, so check the event information before travelling.
Flying in
Poznań-Ławica Airport (POZ) is exceptionally convenient because its runway complex is directly beside Tor Poznań.
- Taxi or rideshare: normally the easiest way to travel from the terminal to the circuit.
- Bus 159: serves both the airport area and Poznań Główny, making travel into the city straightforward.
- Rental car: useful if the race is part of a longer trip around Poland.

2026 circuit status
Tor Poznań remains operational in 2026, but visitors should be aware that its long-term legal situation is still being considered because of a dispute over local noise limits.
- April 2026: an environmental decision initially threatened continued circuit operation.
- Decision suspended: enforcement was subsequently stayed while the case proceeds through the administrative court.
- Events continue: the circuit is currently allowed to operate and 2026 race meetings remain scheduled.
Because the situation is ongoing, checking that your event is proceeding before making a special journey is sensible.
